BGIS Launches Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan

RAP Cover
15 April 2020

After a robust process of consultation with our stakeholders, staff, RAP Working Group and with generous guidance and encouragement from Reconciliation Australia, we are delighted to launch our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Guided by themes of respect, opportunity and inclusion, our RAP establishes a framework of practical actions that will strengthen relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, and engage our people and communities in the reconciliation movement.

Our RAP includes targets to increase spend with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suppliers, achieve three per cent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff representation across all business functions, and a commitment to partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders to review and implement an Indigenous Engagement Plan.

“On behalf of Reconciliation Australia, I am delighted to see BGIS continue its reconciliation journey,” said Karen Mundine, Chief Executive Officer – Reconciliation Australia. “We encourage BGIS to embrace this journey with open hearts and minds, to grow from the challenges, and to build on its successes.”
