Facilities Management for National Capital Authority
BGIS is the Managing Contractor for the built assets of the National Capital Authority, a statutory authority of the Australian Government that was established to manage the Commonwealth’s interest in the planning and development of Canberra as the capital city of Australia. The NCA Account Team provides a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance, security, cleaning, estate planning, capital works, sustainability initiatives, and asset life cycle management. Our portfolio includes significant buildings such as Regatta Point (home to the National Capital Exhibition and Canberra and Region Visitors Centre), the National Carillon, Canberra Contemporary Art Space, and the Water’s Edge restaurant. We manage heritage sites like Blundell’s Cottage (built in 1860) and Limestone House, the old isolation ward from the former Royal Canberra Hospital. In addition, the team oversees the Captain Cook Memorial Jet, major bridges (Commonwealth Avenue and Kings Avenue) and 30 smaller bridges, as well as roads, bike paths, footpaths, streetlights, traffic lights, playgrounds, memorials, public artworks, and hydraulic infrastructure.
