BGIS is thrilled to announce that we won the Collaborative Partnerships award at the Facility Management Association of Australia (FMA) Industry Awards for Excellence 2023. This very special win is shared with two clients NSW Department of Communities and Justice, and Australian Government Department of Defence, along with our vendor Civic Disability. Together, these organisations have come together to reduce recidivism by providing 15 inmates at the Metropolitan Special Purpose Centre with full-time employment and vocational education and training. The inmates provide a complete laundry service to four Defence bases including sorting, washing, drying, and ironing. Metropolitan Special Purpose Centre employs these inmates who are skilled in handling high volumes of linen within a 24-hour turnaround. The laundry operates to quality accredited standards and Australian Standards. The linen service is provided Monday to Friday and BGIS engages disability service provider Civic Disability to pick-up and drop off all linen to the Defence bases.

Congratulations to our BGIS team members and clients who have created this successful partnership!
