COVID- 19 Update

Covid-19 Update
19 March 2020

BGIS is committed to supporting our people, clients and communities in every way we can.

We have adapted our working arrangements to ensure we continue to safely provide services to our clients. Our service provision remains constant through the Government restrictions, lock downs and border controls.

In response to the changing dynamics and the global efforts to contain the coronavirus, BGIS continues to elevate our safety efforts to mitigate risk and protect our people, clients and communities.

Recent actions include:

  • Collaborating with our clients to understand and manage any service level changes across their portfolios.
  • Identifying baseline infectious disease protocols, and then ensuring alignment to our clients critical protocols, with isolation and travel protocols currently in place.
  • Actively participating in Business Continuity Planning activities and responding, as required, in a timely and responsive manner.
  • Reducing interactions between building operations personnel and occupants where possible.
  • BGIS is ensuring our technical and critical environment team members have the appropriate documentation for travel to critical client sites, in the event of city/ state-wide lock down
  • BGIS is managing the shift rotation of knowledgeable staff, in the event an entire shift of personnel needs to be quarantined, so we can provide continued service. Our teams are required to use social distancing and disinfecting of workspaces between shift changes.
  • We understand that decisions relating to business operations, may change quickly, and we remain available 24/7 to ensure we can adjust our operations to meet your needs.

Helpdesk/Operations Centre

We can confirm that our 24hr coverage has not been compromised by the COVID-19 situation, and we remain staffed to effectively respond to your requests while observing all government rules and recommendations to keep our staff safe and healthy.

For your convenience, we would also like to remind our Clients who are calling into the Helpdesk/Operations Centre with Routine service requests, that they can make service requests using a Web Request or Email where applicable, although we encourage service requests that are Emergency or Urgent in nature to be called in using our Toll-Free lines.

Supply Chain

There is a significant shortage of hand sanitiser products and face masks, with lead times currently being quoted above 6-8 weeks. Despite this our Procurement Team has secured a number of large shipments for a number of our Clients and, also for use by our technical personnel to ensure their safety. BGIS has a dedicated Corporate Procurement Team exploring sourcing options to secure scarce products such as these, and we encourage our clients to make us aware of any challenges that they may have in order for us to possibly be of assistance.

We are working with our cleaning service providers to define and implement enhanced cleaning and decontamination protocols that are effective, consistent and are completed with consideration to the provision of safe and sustainable services.

BGIS’ teams are dedicated to the continued support of our clients businesses, contributing in whatever way possible to ensure the organisation can continue serving its’ valued customers and our communities.
